Battambang day 1

Welcome to two days rolled into one with no particular reason. So read on if you’re curious. Or just skip completely. Your call.

Preparation day or whatever

Starting tomorrow, or today, whatever in blog time, we will go.each day gets its own post

This is more of a preparation or lack of day. Like we pack a bag that is too big for three days. I remember going for a month and packing a smaller bag. So anyways, tomorrow at 930am we will get on a local bus service that will transport us the three hours to our temporary place. Been more than a few times so the writing here will be the same mix of personal crap with some travel things tossed in.

The trip report here will be on separate days. Each day, I plan on really doing nothing particular. It makes things more interesting when we do something. I'll see about making this live tomorrow after our first day. Then new blogposts I think for the following days. I will also be putting a little bit on my fediverse account right about here. Look for some toot action there over the next days. Since I am only bringing my iPhone, I'll be using the wonderful Working Copy app to post things on the blog.

So that's it. It's all random and it all just happens or not. Like tomorrow going at 930am. Three hours and a few stops on what we think is the best bus service here. LarryTA always seems to offer the safest and speediest options and my wife loves to try to make the driver talk to her. She will find others if the driver does not :-).

Battambang Day one - Minivan trip and getting there

Its 730am. Like usual neither of us sleep well. We will leave at 9am for the minivan service. Luckily for us, it’s right down the street from where we live so a passapp gets us there quickly. Then 930 we pull out from here and go there.

The trip is 3 hours. One stop for restroom. Talking optional. We got in at about 1pm. Decided on this walk because I hate missing a day. It’s this rectangle along the riverfront and down to a major street. Then down to another and another. End up at big turn around and walk back street 2 and our hotel. Saw this on my way. There are beautiful temples all around the town.

Ended up doing the one dinner my wife wants here. Flavors of India here. For some reason probably because it’s so good we always just want the food. Sometimes feel like we could just come for the day and do the food and leave.

That’s about it. I’ll be just doing another blog post for tomorrow. Stay tuned for absolutely the same stuff as usual. Just in a different city.
